A little-known fact about the Steel Staff is that there is no steel in the design at all. The name of the staff is actually in reference to its creator, the metal manipulator Wizard known as Simon Steel. The shaft and decorative casing are made using burnished iron made to look like steel. The shaft is one of the least impressive parts about this staff. However, the casing that holds the focus point is where the magic really lies.

The swirling aether-like substance in the head of the staff is not encased in anything at all except the forces of magic. For each of the almost 900 staves Simon Steel made, he cast a containment spell to hold the swirling magical gases in place. Only able to be unmade by Simon himself, there is no danger in the energy escaping or causing harm. There were also two blue colored glass gems put into the iron to add a bit of flair. However, in this Wizard's opinion, they were unnecessary.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://info.cosmicuniverse.io/lore/cosmic-parchments/wizard-staves/steel-staff.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
