# Mystery Portal

A little piece of advice - don't stare into the portal for too long. The mystery surrounding the portals that are contained in the heads of these staves is one that scholars will be trying to understand for aeons. No one knows who created these staves, and this Wizard does not care to know.

There is something foreboding about the portal though, and those who look at it for too long are sometimes driven to madness...committing mindless acts that they would otherwise never have dreamed of. The rest of the staff, though in appearance seems to be some kind of metal, is actually made of glass. The glass is tempered and protected by a spell, though even that is foreign to any known staff maker. The portal does act as a focus of a Wizard's magic though, and so it makes for a useful staff, any Wizard who uses these staves is often considered brave or foolhardy.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://info.cosmicuniverse.io/lore/cosmic-parchments/wizard-staves/mystery-portal.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
